Following the initial day of the signing period, 238 out of the 300 ESPN projected players have officially committed to their colleges. This shows an increase from 221 last year, leaving a limited number of high-ranking recruits available for signing during the February period.

The majority of players have already announced their commitments and signed on the first day, and with fewer prospects left, it’s unlikely that there will be significant changes in the class rankings before the end of the signing period on Friday. Alabama, Georgia, and Texas A&M secured the top three spots, with Alabama maintaining its position at the top.

This marks the sixth time that Alabama has clinched the top-ranked recruiting class, a remarkable feat considering no other school has achieved this more than twice since ESPN began its rankings in 2006. Michigan and Oregon rounded out the top five, with Oregon potentially claiming the top spot in the Pac-12 for the first time in history.

Mario Cristobal and his team secured the top recruit in defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux before the early signing period began, propelling their ranking for 2019. While these teams have dominated the cycle, there were also notable winners from the current signing period.
