Travis Hunter, a standout for the University of Colorado Buffaloes, has emerged as one of the most prominent figures in college football. His versatility as a player is particularly noteworthy, as he excels both as a cornerback on defense and a wide receiver on offense.

Travis Hunter Discloses Price Tag to Remain at Colorado

Hunter will be eligible for the draft this spring and is anticipated to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, where he is projected to be among the top selections.

However, he still retains the option to bypass the draft and continue his journey in Boulder. When inquired about the cost to keep him at Colorado, Hunter lightheartedly remarked that it would take $40 million.

Deion Sanders Claps Back at Pat McAfee

The Buffaloes have surprised many this season, and much of that can be attributed to Hunter’s exceptional performance. Offensively, he is enjoying a career-best season, having already surpassed his personal record for receiving touchdowns, and we are only halfway through the season.

On the defensive end, he has also been impressive, recording 10 solo tackles and two interceptions this season. Hunter’s standout gameplay has led many to believe he is a frontrunner for the Heisman trophy. However, during College Gameday, host Pat McAfee suggested he had Hunter ranked second in the Heisman race.

Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders responded swiftly to this assertion. “How is that even possible? How could you even say that?” Sanders countered to McAfee.

“Travis Hunter and second place have never been friendly.”

This incident isn’t the first time this week Coach Sanders has had an issue with the media. Earlier, he was asked by a reporter to compare himself as a two-way athlete to Hunter, which Sanders found problematic.

“This isn’t about me versus Travis,” Sanders stated during  a recent press conference. “I have had my time in the spotlight. I’m not a tool to be turned on and off at will. I want Travis to bask in everything—the accolades, the recognition, the admiration, and all the focus he deserves. It’s his moment now; I’ve had mine.”
