Contender for junior featherweight Diego De La Hoya has been said to be a professional prizefighter since 2013. But till now he has not got any kind of chance to fight in his hometown of Mexicali, Mexico or even in his country. This is said to change De La Hoya, who is of a 24-year-old first cousin of Hall of Famer as well as a promoter of Oscar De La Hoya. It will defend his regional 122-pound belts which are said to be against Edixon Perez on 17th November. It is in the 10 round bout at the Plaza De Toros Calafia in Mexicali, which is a Golden Boy Promotions that was announced on Thursday.

In a statement by De La Hoya, he said that he is delighted to return to the hometown and to defend his titles. It is said that it is developed as a career in the United States, but he is now happy that for the very first time as a professional in Mexico. He added by saying this that it is the best headline to come back like this.

De La Hoya is now very close to getting the world title opportunity as he has notched his biggest win in the career during the last year in September. In that match, he has crushed to a one-sided 10 round decision which is over former bantamweight world titlist Randy Caballero. It is said that he has been limited to only one fight in the year 2018, which is a seventh-round knockout of former world title challenger Jose Salgado on 8th June. Perez said that he is a privilege to fight against the renowned boxer Diego De La Hoya in Mexico.
