Aston Martin has revealed the name of its highly anticipated new SUV model, the DBX. The brand-new SUV is expected to be launched next year. The prototype of the new DBX is currently undergoing testing for off-road capability in Wales. The reveal of the name does not come as a surprise, as it was previously mentioned in the company’s IPO prospectus when it was listed on the London Stock Exchange in October.
With the introduction of this new SUV, Aston Martin is joining the ranks of Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Lamborghini in the luxury SUV market, aiming to attract customers, particularly in China. The DBX will undergo testing on challenging Welsh rally stages before moving on to Arctic and desert terrains to assess its performance in extreme cold and hot conditions.
The final stage of testing will fine-tune the vehicle’s dynamics on the Nurburgring track in Germany. SUVs usually present their own set of challenges. This will be the first time the manufacturer will test the vehicle in off-road conditions to evaluate its towing capacity, tasks that are not typically assigned to two-seaters or convertible sports cars. According to Becker, the DBX is a unique offering from Aston Martin, designed to excel in extreme conditions and various terrains to provide customers with an unparalleled driving experience.
