People in America and one step closer to see the pro hockey tournament which is vented at the Emerald City. Gary Bettman, the Commissioner, told the press on Tuesday that the board of Governors of NHL has officially recommended an expansion team in Seattle. This gigantic decision was made after a meeting which took place at the NHL headquarters in New York. In the meeting, an assembly of key stakeholders was gathered and had pitched their case to the executive committee.

Jerry Bruckheimer, the famous fan of Hockey along with Tim and Tod Leiweke, David Wright, Lean Potter, David Bonderman, Francesca Bodie, and mayor Jenny Durkan make the Seattle group. The previous leader, Mayor Jenny Durkan, sold her city hard to the brass of NHL and she was seen speaking about the same passion she had for the game to the public, She even said that she wants the team to come together and run for the 2020-2021 season. Durkan told the journalists that “I’m very confident we’re going to be able to move forward and get what we need from the NHL and the team and stick to the schedule, so we have hockey in 2020.”

This will be NHL’s thirty-second franchise, and in Seattle, this will be the first one. Back in 1917, Seattle Metropolitans of the Pacific Hockey League took the Stanley Cup. This will be the second expansion since the previous season debut of people’s favorite  Vegas Golden Knights, Cinderella story.

The only thing which is now drawing a lot of concern is the KeyArena which is the suggested venue for the Seattle squad. The squad is up to to a massive $700 million rebuilding. Despite the posh project, the city has been showing a palpable interest in the NHL hockey. Bettman also stated that if everything works according to the plan, then they are going to see a little bit of NHL action in 2020.
