One of the most prominent basketball players of LSU, Wayde Sims was killed in a shooting that took place near the southern university campus early Friday morning, as stated by Baton Rouge police. Wayde, the 20-year-old from Baton Rouge was killed during a shootout in the subway restaurant across from the Southern’s football stadium at around 1:25 am midnight.
A video has been captured where it shows that several men fighting in the street outside the restaurant and someone shots the gun and Sims can be seen falling to the ground and the remaining men were still standing from the video. He was immediately taken to the local hospital, and he was declared dead from the gunshot wound, as stated by the Baton Rouge Police.
The coach of LSU, Will Wade was reported saying that everyone is devastated and Wayde and his family needs prayers. His family and the basketball team needs some time to let go of the sad demise. He also stated that he was informed about the shooting early in the Friday morning and then he went to the hospital. He informed the team around 6:30 a.m. when they had scheduled a morning workout.
Wade was reported saying that the team and everybody from his school want to remember Wayde, as acknowledge how great he was as a person. Other than the fact that he was best man in the team, he was just an unbelievable person in his real life too and was still in his growing years and had done a great job building a bridge with the team. He will be remembered for all his great works and his kind personality. It was always a blast whenever he was around.
