Andrew Luck Throws Football at Minicamp for the First Time

Luck throws a football for the first time in minicamp

Andrew Luck, the Colts quarterback, made his first throw at the minicamp since October. He announced his readiness to play in the Colts’ Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals without any uncertainty. Luck had shoulder surgery in January 2017, and this session marked his return to throwing a football. He was closely monitored by head coach Frank Reich as he went through individual drills, throwing around 25 passes with a Wilson TDS 1205 football.

Reich praised Luck’s progress, mentioning that he has been actively involved in observing and working with the team. Luck has been using a smaller, college-size football to reduce strain on his hand and has been slowly regaining his throwing form. Reich also emphasized the importance of allowing players to progress at their own pace and mentioned the team’s cautious optimism for Luck’s return for the season opener against the Bengals. The Colts have struggled in Luck’s absence, with him missing 26 games over the past three seasons.
