The New York Jets, which is one of the top names that remain on the free agent market, has agreed to terms with wide receiver Terrelle Pryor Sr. On Thursday night, an NFL insider informed. The contract terms were not available immediately. Pryor had met the Jets and the Seattle Seahawks this week.
Now having Pryor on board, the Jets have a good chance to move on from Robby Anderson or Jermaine Kearse. Anderson is coming out of a breakout session, but the off-field issues are what the organizations are worried about. On the other hand, Kearse was amazing when he played in his first season with the Jets, but he is now to make a non-guaranteed $5 million in the year 2018. The other 2017 draft picks that will be pushing for the playoff are Chad Hansen and ArDarius Stewart.
Pryor rejected a multiyear offer given by Cleveland Browns after a breakout season in the year 2016 and signed a one year contract with the Washington last offseason. However, this move did not work in his favor as he finished with one touchdown and just 20 catches for 240 yards in the nine games he played with the team. However, Pryor injured his right ankle in Week 2 for which he went for surgery in November.
He was not the point of Washington’s offense, unlike the way he was in Cleveland. Pryor caught four touchdowns and 77 passes for 1,007 yards in his first full season as a receiver. He was switched from being a quarterback to being a receiver in the 2015 offseason. However, Pryor played in just three games that season. In the year 2011, Pryor was picked by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the supplemental draft. He played ten games as a quarterback while he also appeared in five other games over his three seasons.
