Shaquille O’Neal appears skeptical about the whirlwind romance between Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion, suggesting their time together might be limited.
In a recent conversation on The Big Podcast with Shaq, the NBA icon offered a blunt prediction regarding the romance: “Six weeks.” When co-host Adam Lefkoe inquired about the relationship’s longevity into the fall, Shaq didn’t hesitate to express his doubts.
The relationship between Thompson, 35, and Megan, 30, officially began earlier this month, following a series of subtle hints on social media. A notable moment came on July 12 when Thompson shared a carousel of images, one of which featured a woman resembling Megan. Shortly after, he confirmed their relationship to Us Weekly, commending her philanthropic efforts and describing it as an “honor” to be with her.
However, O’Neal, 53, is no stranger to Hollywood’s rapid courtships. He seems to bring his own experiences into the mix, recalling his previous attempt to woo Megan during an Instagram Live, an effort that, despite its lack of fruition, did not go unnoticed.
Thompson has had a string of high-profile relationships. His journey began with social media influencer Hannah Stocking in 2014, which ended amid cheating rumors. Following that, he was linked to actress Laura Harrier (2018-2020) and singer Coco Jones (2021-2023), among others.
On the other hand, Megan has typically maintained discretion regarding her dating life—until now.
For Shaq, the equation is clear: high-profile relationships with a rapid start are rarely built to last, leaving him to anticipate a brief romance.
