Paul George of the Philadelphia 76ers is facing criticism over the frequency of his podcast episodes, especially as his team struggles in the current season.
With the 76ers languishing near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings at a dismal 20-37 record, George has decided to pause his show, Podcast P with Paul George, announcing this move is to “focus on winning a championship.”

He elaborated, “I want to let the podcast P family know that after today’s episode with Dwight, I plan to take a break from the Pod just to focus on getting my body right, getting mentally right and you know helping this squad make a push towards our goal to finish out the season and give ourselves a chance to be in contention to compete for a championship.”
Despite his intentions, the situation looks bleak for the 76ers, who have lost their last eight games and find themselves 17 games under .500 as they enter the crucial final stretch of the season without their star player, two-time MVP Joel Embiid, due to a knee injury.
As reactions to George’s announcement flood in, one fan remarked on X, “After the season is essentially over, Paul George announces he will be solely prioritizing basketball over his podcast to get back in shape. I am at a loss for words. You can’t even make up how insane this Sixers season has been.”

Given George’s hefty contract (4-year/$212 million) with the 76ers, his performance this season has fallen short of expectations for the 34-year-old veteran.
Currently, the nine-time All-Star is averaging 16.2 points per game with a shooting percentage of 43.2%, along with 5.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists.

Ultimately, George’s shift in focus from podcasting to basketball may be what the 76ers need to rejuvenate their season, especially with the team sitting at +50000 odds to clinch the NBA championship in the 2024-25 season.
