When discussing the recently unveiled 2025 All-Star Game format, four-time NBA champion Draymond Green did not hold back, rating the event a dismal 0 out of 10.

“This Sucks, this isn’t basketball,” Green remarked during the NBA TNT All-Star Game broadcast.

Among his critiques, Green expressed particular disdain over the inclusion of Rising Stars players in the All-Star Game on Sunday.

“I worked so hard to play on Sunday night of All-Star Weekend, and now because ratings are dwindling and the game is struggling, we’re bringing in these rising stars. That doesn’t solve the issue,” the four-time All-Star commented during TNT’s NBA Tip Off.

“To play in the All-Star game without making the All-Star team is frankly absurd,” he added.

Before the Rising Stars faced off against Team Shaq, Green likened the matchup to “the Olympic team playing against a U19 team.” After the surprising final score of 42-35, he was queried about whether the Rising Stars had validated their place on the court.

He responded, “Yes. That they [the Rising Stars] shouldn’t have been out there… They never belonged on that court… Those games weren’t exciting at all.”

Green also took issue with the newly introduced rules, which included a 40-point scoring cap. “You work all year to become an All-Star, and you can only play for a chance at 40 points before you’re done,” he stated. “It’s incredibly unfair to players like Victor Wembanyama and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who take this game seriously. Legends like Kobe and Melo had the opportunity to chase scoring records. This format robs current players of that chance.”

His critiques resonated with many viewers; however, not everyone shared his perspective. Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson, at 86 years old, dismissed Green’s comments, stating, “Who cares what Draymond says.”
