Leave it to Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin to enjoy a bit of humor on social media, which he frequently does. This opportunity arose after USC’s victory over LSU this past weekend, which left Tigers coach Brian Kelly fuming during the post-game press conference.
“Here we are once again discussing the same issues,” Kelly exclaimed after the defeat, pounding his fist on the table and sending his water bottle flying. “This makes me so furious that I have to take action. I’m not performing my duties as a coach adequately… It’s absurd. It’s unbelievable.”
Brian Kelly is extremely upset following LSU’s loss to USC.

Well, Kiffin couldn’t resist having a little fun with this situation.
“On Tuesday, Kiffin posted a screenshot of Kelly striking the table with the bottle of Dasani water airborne next to him,” noted Steve DelVecchio of Larry Brown Sports. Kiffin humorously suggested that Kelly just needed a Coke Zero and a smile.”
Maybe you just need a @CokeZero and a 😊 @CoachBrianKelly #LoveCoke 💙💜 https://t.co/mOVbDcAd3c

Additionally, Kiffin poked fun at himself. He recently went on a tirade about the downsides of consuming Coke during one of his own press conferences — which was perhaps not the best move, considering Coke is an Ole Miss sponsor. So, he commented on his “affection” for Coke at Kelly’s expense.
Anyway, according to our own Brandon Santomauro:
“In light of the dramatic finish to the game, the Trojans were behind 17-13 at the start of the final quarter, but after a quick 64-yard drive in just three plays with five minutes remaining, they took the lead 20-17. The Tigers quickly responded with a field goal, leveling the score at 20-20.
“With the game hanging in the balance, USC junior QB Miller Moss expertly led the team down the field during a two-minute drill. A crucial play came with just 15 seconds left, when wide receiver Kyron Hudson made a spectacular catch to put them in scoring position, which was further aided by a targeting penalty that added another 15 yards.
“In the final eight seconds, senior running back Woody Marks rushed the ball into the end zone from the 13-yard line, clinching the victory for USC, marking the fifth consecutive season-opening loss for LSU (their third straight under Kelly).”
