Alabama came out triumphant against Ole Miss in a high-scoring game, winning 63-48 in a match that lacked defensive prowess.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban expressed dissatisfaction with his team’s defensive display, conceding 647 yards to Ole Miss. Post-game, he speculated that Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin, a former Alabama offensive coordinator, might have been familiar with Alabama’s defensive signals.

Saban remarked, as reported by ESPN, “It seemed like everything we did though they had an answer for. I don’t know if they had our signals or what. That’s not anything unusual. It seemed like every time we called something, they had the best play that they could have against it.”

While Saban didn’t directly accuse Ole Miss of signal theft, Lane Kiffin took to Twitter to reject the notion that he had Alabama’s signals and stated that knowing them wouldn’t have impacted his team’s performance.

Kiffin clarified on Twitter, saying, “FYI when [you]go as fast as we do we call our play first. Stealing signals wouldn’t help us at all because we are snapping the ball why they were still trying to just line up. [Alabama football] go win the natty.”
