An Australian rugby player has recounted a harrowing experience where he almost lost his life, losing 2.5 liters of blood, after punching a window upon discovering his fiancée engaged in a sexual act with his teammate.

Michael Lichaa, 29, revealed the incident led to significant changes in his life. He narrated waking up to the sight of his fiancée, Kara Childerhouse, engaging in a sexual act with his former Bulldogs teammate, Adam Elliott, in his backyard. This discovery triggered a fit of anger, prompting him to punch a glass window on his front door, resulting in a severe arm injury as he yanked it from the frame. Concerned neighbors, hearing him threaten, called the police, leading to domestic violence charges being filed against him following Childerhouse’s accusation of assault.

Lichaa expressed his distress in court, admitting struggling with the mental image of his fiancée’s actions with his close friend. He thanked his legal team, family, and new fiancée for their support and stated his desire to move on positively from the ordeal.

Despite being summoned to testify, Childerhouse chose not to participate in the proceedings, citing pregnancy-related stress and declined to continue her testimony midway. As a result, her prior statements were disregarded, ultimately resulting in the dismissal of the assault charge due to lack of evidence.
