James Harden is making it abundantly clear that he is not letting anyone accuse him of being overweight or having to resort to using a fat suit in the upcoming NBA season.

A recent viral image of the Philadelphia 76ers’ star showcases a notably slimmer physique compared to his appearance during the playoffs.

The former MVP, Harden, faced challenges with hamstring injuries and weight issues following his trade from the Brooklyn Nets to the 76ers. While initially listed at 220 pounds, rumors circulated that he reported to training camp in subpar physical condition.

Just last week, Harden inked a two-year contract worth $68.6 million with the 76ers, with the second year allowing him the option of becoming a free agent. Harden took a salary reduction in support of the team’s overall improvement.

As he enters his 14th season in the NBA, Harden has primarily played for the Houston Rockets throughout his career. Originally drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2009, he was traded to the Rockets in 2012, where he spent almost nine seasons before moving to the Nets in 2020.

Harden faced challenges during the playoffs against the Heat, averaging only 18.2 points, 7.0 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game, along with 4.8 turnovers.

While Harden may not possess the same explosive prowess he once did, he remains a valuable asset on the court.
