After securing a victory against the Utah Jazz, James Harden has moved past Ray Allen on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers made list.

This milestone means Harden has now hit 2,975 three-pointers (36.3% from beyond the arc) over 1,086 career games, compared to Allen’s 2,973 three-pointers (40% from three) across 1,300 games, achieved with over 750 fewer attempts.

After achieving this notable feat, Harden, now 35, expressed how significant it is to him.

“Unbelievable accomplishment. Just a testament to the amount of work that I’ve been putting in. As I get older and just chip away at an unbelievable career, I start to accomplish things like that. So I don’t ever want to take it for granted. I just want to give motivation to the youth and every other person that’s chasing a dream to play professional basketball or whatever it is. So it’s an honor.”

Currently, the only player ahead of Harden is Stephen Curry, who is the all-time leader in three-pointers made with 3,782. However, Harden acknowledges that he and possibly no one else has a realistic shot at surpassing Curry’s record.

“I’m one of the most confident guys that we have in this league,” Harden remarked. “But no, I probably won’t catch Steph. And I don’t think anybody will honestly… I don’t know man… he can shoot the s*** out of the ball… So, somebody has to have an unbelievable career, shoot the ball well and make a lot of 3s. If it happens, it’ll be when we’re not around anymore. So that’ll be there for a minute.”

Harden and the Clippers faced off against Curry’s Warriors the following night, winning by a score of 102-99.
