In the 2020 college football season, the Alabama Crimson Tide secured their third national title during the College Football Playoff era. However, one player had different plans for his championship ring.
During an episode of Pawn Stars, a man named John sold a 2020 championship ring to Rick Harrison. According to a report from TouchdownAlabama.com, the ring belonged to former Alabama running back Keilan Robinson.
The national championship ring was part of a set that included an SEC championship ring and a ring from Alabama’s College Football Playoff semifinal victory over Notre Dame. The entire set was originally listed for $60,000 on the pawn shop’s website, but the ring was eventually sold for $40,000.
Robinson played for Alabama in 2019, took a break during the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and received the ring when the Crimson Tide clinched the national title. He then transferred to Texas for the following season.
As fate would have it, the Texas Longhorns are scheduled to face Alabama at Darrell K. Royal Stadium on September 10 this season. This sets up an intriguing matchup where Robinson is likely to play a significant role against his former team.
