Kevin Durant, known as one of the NBA’s greatest players, has faced criticism for his decisions, especially when he left the OKC Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors, the team that had just defeated his former team in the playoffs.

His move to the Warriors formed a dominant superteam that seemed unbeatable except for instances of injuries, like when they faced the Raptors in the NBA Finals.

After leaving Golden State, Durant joined the Brooklyn Nets alongside Kyrie Irving, but their performance has not met expectations, leading Durant to request a trade.

Recently, on an episode of “UNDISPUTED,” Shannon Sharpe mocked Kevin Durant for “running away during tough times.”

Sharpe commented, “I’m surprised, but I started thinking and realized KD’s a runner. He’s a track star. He’s going to run away when it gets hard. He can’t take the pain, he can’t get scared, if you get involved, he’ll leave your team in ruins… I’m so disappointed in KD. This KD/LeBron comparison, we can put it to bed.”

Despite Durant’s stellar average of nearly 30 points per game on over 50% shooting, the Nets suffered a disappointing first-round exit from the NBA Playoffs at the hands of the Boston Celtics.

Having played alongside Kyrie Irving for two seasons, the duo has only managed to win one playoff series.

Durant, aged 33, recently completed his third season with the Nets under contract until the 2025-26 season, following a hefty four-year, $198 million extension deal in 2021.
