An eye-catching NBA trade unfolded on Sunday as Kevin Durant, a 15-time All-Star, learned about his transfer to the Houston Rockets while speaking at the Fanatics Fest event in New York City.

The specifics of the deal reveal that Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th pick in the upcoming 2025 draft, along with five second-round picks, will be sent to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for the two-time champion.

<p.Ultimately, it seems the 17-year veteran is content with the trade, viewing it as a beneficial arrangement for both himself and the Suns organization.

“They wanted me to go. I’m glad they got what they wanted & I got what I wanted. Good luck to them,” Durant remarked in his interview.

It’s noteworthy that this marks Durant’s sixth team since entering the league in 2007 as the second overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics.

Despite nearing the latter stages of his career, Durant remains a formidable player, showcasing MVP-caliber statistics with impressive scoring efficiency. Last season, he averaged 26.6 points (52.7% FG, 43% 3-PT), along with 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists.

As the Houston roster is shaping up for the 2025-26 season, it certainly looks like they have the makings of a strong contender for the championship.
