Chael Sonnen, a retired UFC fighter, is currently facing serious charges of battery related to an incident in Las Vegas.

Sonnen is accused of attacking six individuals, including a woman whom he allegedly punched and pushed. The charges against him include 11 counts of battery, one of which is classified as battery by strangulation, as reported by ESPN.

As a response to these charges, ESPN has decided to take Sonnen out of his role as an MMA analyst, stating, “Chael will not appear on ESPN as we explore the details of these serious charges.”

Sonnen is set to appear in court on April 27, but he has not yet provided a comment on the situation. Previously, he faced five battery charges, which were dropped in January.

The 44-year-old retired fighter has a history of notable matches in the UFC, including fights against Jon Jones and Anderson Silva. He was suspended for two years by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs and retired from MMA competition in 2019, transitioning into a role as an analyst for various promotions and media outlets.
