Brian Flores’ legal representatives, Doug Wigdor and John Elefterakis, stated that the ex-head coach of the Miami Dolphins turned down the opportunity to sign a non-disclosure agreement despite being offered millions of dollars.

Flores and his legal team sat down with Bryant Gumbel for HBO’s Real Sports, with the episode airing recently. They disclosed that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross presented Flores with the NDA proposal just a month ago. Currently, Flores is engaged in legal proceedings against the NFL and is targeting specific teams including the Dolphins, the New York Giants, and the Denver Broncos.

In his lawsuit, Flores claims that he was enticed with a $100,000 incentive for every defeat while coaching the Dolphins, allegedly as part of Ross’s strategy to secure a high draft pick. Ross has refuted these accusations, and following the broadcast of the interview, a Dolphins representative swiftly denied the claim that Flores was asked to sign an NDA.

The statement issued by the Dolphins asserted, “We are confident [the results of the NFL investigation] will prove that his claims are false and defamatory.”

Wigdor took to Twitter to share snapshots of two documents which he believes demonstrate that Flores was indeed offered a nondisclosure agreement.

Wigdor informed Gumbel, “If a coach is terminated with a couple years or a year left on their contract, they don’t get paid unless they sign a waiver, an NDA, confidentiality and non-disparagement. So, they buy their silence.”
