Quarterback Ryan Tannehill led the way with 209 passing yards and a crucial touchdown as the Tennessee Titans staged an impressive comeback to defeat the San Francisco 49ers by a narrow margin with a last-second field goal.

The nail-biting game ended with a score of 20-17 in favor of the Titans, moving them within touching distance of clinching their second consecutive AFC South title pending one more win or a loss by the Indianapolis Colts, who are set to play on Christmas Day. Despite a recent slump in form with three losses in their last four games, the Titans managed to pull off a vital win on Thursday to stay in contention for the division title.

Randy Bullock was the hero of the day, notching a 44-yard field goal as time expired to seal the win for the Titans. Earlier in the game, Bullock also contributed with a 38-yard field goal in the midst of the third quarter. The first half of the contest held at Nissan Stadium in Nashville heavily favored the 49ers, with Jeff Wilson scoring a rushing touchdown in the opening quarter, followed by a 48-yard field goal from Robbie Gould, giving San Francisco a comfortable lead going into the second half.

However, the Titans fought back strongly after the break, sparked by D’Onta Foreman’s touchdown run up the middle and Tannehill’s connection with AJ Brown for another touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Despite a late touchdown from the 49ers to level the score, it was Bullock’s confident kick that ultimately secured the hard-fought victory for Tennessee.
