Spencer Rattler is making a move.
The former Oklahoma Sooners QB has chosen to take his talents to South Carolina.
Rattler, once a top contender for the Heisman Trophy prior to being benched early in the season, revealed his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal last month.
In a heartfelt message to “Sooner Nation,” Rattler expressed his gratitude for his time as a student-athlete at the esteemed institution. He thanked his teammates and coaches for the memories and victories they shared, emphasizing the special moments he will always hold dear.
After starting all 11 games as a redshirt freshman last season and garnering impressive stats, including 3,031 passing yards and 28 touchdowns, Rattler faced setbacks when he was benched for the second consecutive year during a notable game against Texas.
Although Rattler led the Sooners to victory after rejoining the game last year, his role was superseded this season by true freshman Caleb Williams, who took charge and secured a win for the team. It became apparent that Rattler would not regain his starting position.
Rattler’s journey will now continue at South Carolina, as he embarks on a new chapter in his collegiate football career.
