The Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made a comeback in the Sunday’s third quarter after enduring a knee injury during the first half against the Chicago Bears and repurchased the Bay Packers from 20 points down to a 24-23 win over the Bears. Rodgers seemed to suffer with the injury when the Bears defensive end, Roy Robertson-Harris appeared to lose his balance and fall on the Rodgers’ left knee in the second quarter. But still, Rodgers tried to stand by putting weight on his leg but sadly crumbled upon the ground later.
He was immediately rushed to the nearby examination tent after which he was taken to the locker room by the medical staff midway in the second quarter of the season against the Bears. Notably, Rodgers had torn his ACL in his left knee in his high school days, an injury which was not surgically catered to until he went to college.
Rodgers was 3-of-7 passing for thirteen yards and later was sacked two times before he left Sunday’s game. He was replaced by former Cleveland Browns starter DeShone Kizer, who went ahead as a rookie in the last season.
Just after Rodgers left, Kizer’s did not play the first two series well because of the new Bears defender, Khalil Mack. Mack completed the first series of Kizer with a strip sack as he ripped the ball out of his hands. Later, Mack picked off a Kizer screen pass and gave it back with 27 yards for a touchdown which gave the Bears a 17-0 lead.
The Packers were trailing at 10-0 when Rodgers left the game and was 20-0 when he returned. He had completed only one of four passes for 7 yards in his first quarter, which is the fewest completions he has made in the first quarter. Rodgers had signed a four-year contract extension worth $134 million in the previous month.
