Amari Cooper’s absence was keenly felt during the Dallas Cowboys’ match against the Kansas City Chiefs, with Dak Prescott and the offense struggling to make significant progress throughout the game, only managing to secure three field goals.
With the upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders at AT&T Stadium, Cooper will be absent for the second time, having tested positive for COVID-19 and undergoing a 10-day quarantine period as a result of being unvaccinated.
When questioned about Cooper’s situation, Dak Prescott stood up for his teammate, stating, “That’s my teammate. That’s my brother. I will continue to support him.”
Prescott reiterated that Cooper’s vaccination status was a personal decision, emphasizing that his absence could occur even if he, as a vaccinated player, were to contract COVID-19. He expressed confidence in Cooper’s return later in the season, despite his current absence.
Regarding his performance in the last game, Prescott shared with reporters that not having Cooper was unfortunate but stressed the importance of respecting personal decisions and not criticizing individuals for making their choices. He highlighted the uncertainty of the situation by mentioning his potential absence of at least two games in a similar scenario.
In terms of game stats, Prescott amassed 216 passing yards with two interceptions, while the receivers managed only 13 catches for 105 yards. The absence of CeeDee Lamb due to a concussion further added to the challenges faced by the team.
