According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, Caruso might secure a deal similar to De’Anthony Melton’s four-year, $34.6 million contract.
Marks highlighted, “Caruso, the longest-serving player on the team, ranked fourth in defensive rating this season and was instrumental in making the Lakers the top defensive team in the league. Because of his tenure exceeding three seasons, Caruso possesses full Bird rights, enabling the Lakers to offer him up to 25% of the salary cap for a maximum of five seasons. League executives suggest that Caruso could attract interest from teams in the $9.5 million midlevel exception range. This aligns with the $8 million average value estimated by ProFitX for Caruso in free agency.”
