Cole Beasley, a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, is facing criticism after stating that he is currently unvaccinated against COVID-19 and has no plans to get the vaccine. The 32-year-old expressed his willingness to retire rather than comply with the NFL’s COVID-19 guidelines.
In a Twitter post, Beasley stated, “I will live my life the way I choose to, without any constraints. I will continue to go out, be in public, and if you are afraid of me, then stay away or get vaccinated. Period. I may risk getting COVID-19, but I prefer to live my life fully. I have close family members who may not have much time left. If they wish to visit me at my home, they are welcome regardless of any protocols.”
Beasley mentioned that he has been discussing his concerns about the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols with the NFL Players Association.
“I don’t want to take medicine for an injury I don’t have,” he stated in his message. “I prefer to face COVID-19 and develop my natural immunity. I believe in eating well, staying hydrated, exercising, and doing what I believe is necessary to maintain good health.”
He also expressed that he is not concerned about potential fines for his decision, as he has already secured financial stability for his family, noting, “Money is not my primary motivator in this stage of my career.”
