The former Clemson Tigers quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, is expanding his list of endorsements as he gears up for the NFL Draft. A recent addition to his endorsements has caused a stir on social media.
Reportedly the projected No. 1 overall draft pick has inked a sponsorship deal with the crypto firm Blockfolio. Lawrence’s initial payment was said to be in cryptocurrency tokens.
According to DealBook, the future payments are flexible, allowing Lawrence, the potential Jacksonville Jaguars QB, to choose a mix of dollars and cryptocurrency for his compensation.
Sam Bankman-Fried, the CEO of FTX, a crypto platform that acquired Blockfolio, expressed their focus on increasing brand awareness. He mentioned Lawrence’s interest in crypto as a key factor in deciding to collaborate with him.
