This week, the Cincinnati Bengals revealed their new uniforms, with Joe Burrow showcasing them along with his prominently visible ACL surgery scar on his left leg. The scar resulted from a season-ending ACL tear on Nov. 22 during his rookie year.

In response to the attention directed at his scar, Burrow took to Instagram with a poignant message, stating, “If you die without any scars then you never did anything worth fighting for.”

In an interview on The Cris Collinsworth Podcast featuring Richard Sherman, Burrow shared his optimism about his recovery progress, stating he is “ahead of schedule” and confident about being ready for the 2021 season in September. “I’m expecting to be there on the first snap of 2021,” he mentioned.

Regarding his rehabilitation journey, Burrow expressed satisfaction midway through the process, emphasizing the improvement in his knee. “I’m very optimistic about where I’m at and also where the team’s at,” he added. “Rehab is going very, very well. Lifting is going very, very well. I’m in great shape. Legs feel good. Knee feels good.”

In his rookie season, the 24-year-old appeared in 10 games for the Bengals, amassing 2,688 yards, 13 touchdowns, and five interceptions with an 89.8 passer rating. Notably, Burrow had just finished a remarkable college football season leading his team to a national title and an undefeated record, culminating in 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, and six interceptions with a completion rate of 76.3 percent.
