In a close game against the Atlanta Hawks, the Los Angeles Lakers faced a setback with a 99-94 loss, compounded by star player LeBron James exiting the match in the second quarter due to an injury.

James sustained a significant sprain to his right ankle, with images capturing the moment of impact as he lay on the court in visible pain. Following the game, the Lakers revealed that James would be out of action for an unspecified period of time.

Expressing his disappointment, James took to Twitter to assure his teammates and fans: “Nothing angers and saddens me more than not being available to and for my teammates! I’m hurt inside and out right now. The road back from recovery begins now. Back soon like I never left.”

The injury occurred when James twisted his ankle during a play involving Solomon Hill from the Hawks attempting a steal. Despite initially trying to push through the pain, James ultimately had to leave the game for further assessment.

Lakers coach Frank Vogel, reflecting on the game and James’ injury, said, “The mood of the team is we’re disappointed we lost and we’ve got to come back and get one tomorrow… I won’t disclose what LeBron was like. It’s in-house.”
