Wales Triumph Over Italy to Secure Fifth Place in Autumn Nations Cup

Wales emerged victorious over Italy, clinching the fifth spot in the Autumn Nations Cup held in Llanelli. As all the other matches concluded, England is set to face off against France on Sunday to compete for the top position.

Early on in the game, the Welsh team surged ahead with a 14-0 lead against Italy, courtesy of tries scored by Kieran Hardy and Sam Parry. Italy fought back strongly, with Marco Zanon and Johan Meyer scoring tries to briefly turn the tide in the second half.

However, Wales mounted a comeback with an impressive display, scoring tries through Gareth Davies, George North, and Justin Tipuric, along with 13 points from Callum Sheedy, ultimately closing out the match with a commanding 38-18 victory.

The clash between Wales and Italy, which determined the fifth and sixth rankings in the tournament, coincided with the matches between Scotland-Ireland and Georgia-Fiji. Ireland secured the third position by defeating Scotland 31-16, while Fiji triumphed over Georgia 38-24 to claim seventh place, leaving Georgia at the bottom of the championship standings.

England is set to face France in the final for the cup on Sunday. France appears formidable following their previous round performances, notably dominating Italy with a 36-5 win, while England narrowly defeated Wales 24-13. England’s standout performance in the cup thus far remains their 40-0 victory over Georgia in the opening game.
