Jackson Mahomes decided to step away from basketball and forge his own path to fame through TikTok.
Recently, Jackson showcased his basketball prowess on TikTok, displaying his shooting and dunking abilities.
Reflecting on his journey, Jackson shared on a YouTube vlog, “Growing up, everything I did, I was always recognized as ‘Patrick Mahomes’ brother.’ But ‘Jackson from TikTok’ carries significance for me because it marks the first time that I was acknowledged not just as ‘Patrick Mahomes’ brother,’ but as ‘Jackson from TikTok.’”
With nearly 735,000 TikTok followers and 22.5 million likes under his handle, @jacksonmahomes, he recently achieved verified status on the platform.
Recalling moments when fans recognized him as “Jackson from TikTok,” he shared, “I’ve always been compared to my dad, a former Major League baseball player, my NFL-playing brother, and my godfather, another Major League baseball player — and then there’s me.”
“Although I enjoyed playing basketball for a long time, when the opportunity arose to pursue it in college, I realized it wasn’t my passion,” Jackson admitted. “After that, I felt lost and uncertain about my future.”
