Things have taken a turn for the worse for the Cowboys and the situation is escalating.
The Dallas Cowboys are facing more challenges following another loss on Sunday. Their defeat against Washington, with a score of 25-3, was marred by quarterback Andy Dalton exiting the game due to concussion-like symptoms. This setback comes after the team already lost Dak Prescott to a season-ending ankle injury earlier in the month.
DeMarcus Lawrence did not hold back in expressing his disappointment after the game.
He emphasized the need for stronger belief, morale, and determination within the team. Lawrence remarked, “That’s really, I feel like, one of our weaknesses. We need to build a stronger backbone, fight, and also make sure that we brought everything possible to come out with a victory.”
Head coach Mike McCarthy also criticized the team for not rallying behind Dalton when he suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit by Washington’s Jon Bostic. This incident occurred with the Cowboys trailing by at least 14 points in the first half for the sixth consecutive week.
McCarthy urged the team to overcome the negative mindset and focus on progress. He stated, “We need to learn from our mistakes. We can’t keep letting our mistakes hold us down and hold us back. The only ones who are going to get us out of the hole are us as a football team.”
With a 2-5 start, the Cowboys find themselves in a challenging position, marking only the fifth time in franchise history with such a record.
