The XFL is making a comeback for a third time!

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has announced that the football league will make its return in the spring of 2022.

Back in August, Johnson, along with Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital, bought the XFL for $15 million after it previously failed. They split the cost of the purchase.

Garcia and Johnson expressed their excitement for leading the XFL and emphasized their commitment to players, coaches, cities, and fans for the upcoming 2022 season. They described the XFL as a league that embodies opportunity, soul, and culture.

Jeffrey Pollack, XFL President and COO, affirmed that the league will resume playing in 2022, prioritizing the love of football and the safety of players and fans. Pollack emphasized the importance of taking the time to ensure a proper and thoughtful return to the field for the benefit of everyone involved in the XFL community.
