Free agent safety Earl Thomas gained attention on social media during the Dallas Cowboys’ recent loss to the Seattle Seahawks, sparking discussions among fans about the possibility of the Cowboys signing him.
Russell Wilson had an outstanding game, scoring five touchdowns against the Cowboys and contributing to their 1-2 record. In response to speculation about acquiring Earl Thomas, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones subtly addressed the matter by mentioning that there are no plans to bring in any new defensive backs this week.
Earl Thomas, a seven-time Pro Bowler who previously played for the Seahawks and Ravens, has been a free agent for a month following his release by the Ravens due to a physical altercation with a teammate.
Despite Dallas having the 7th highest scoring offense and the top yardage offense in the league, the team’s defensive performance is concerning as they are currently ranked 30th in points allowed and 25th in yards allowed.
