UConn basketball and the sports world are saddened today upon hearing the news of the passing of former star Stanley Robinson at the age of 32.
The UConn basketball community mourns the loss of Stanley “Sticks” Robinson, remembering him not only as a great player but an exceptional individual. The team expressed their condolences to Stanley’s family during this challenging time.
Robinson was recognized as a high school All-America before his standout performance for UConn from 2006-2010. He notably contributed to the Huskies’ journey to the 2009 Final Four.
Throughout his career, he played 126 games with an average of 9.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He was drafted in the 2010 NBA Draft as the 59th overall pick by the Detroit Pistons.
Although he didn’t play in the NBA regular season, he found opportunities in the G League and overseas in countries like Canada, Chile, Iceland, Uruguay, and the Dominican Republic.
