The Washington NFL team is dealing with allegations of sexual harassment after multiple former employees came forward with complaints. Team owner, Dan Snyder, has pledged to overhaul the team’s culture and has initiated an external investigation into the claims.
The report first emerged in the Washington Post, detailing accusations from 15 former female employees who alleged experiencing sexual harassment while working for the team. In response, Snyder enlisted the services of the Wilkinson and Walsh law firm based in the District of Columbia to conduct an impartial investigation into the allegations and assess the team’s procedures for addressing such issues.
“Snyder stated, “Beth Wilkinson and her team have the authority to conduct a comprehensive, unbiased investigation and provide any necessary recommendations. Once the investigation is complete, we will implement new protocols and bolster our HR systems to prevent similar incidents in the future while fostering a respectful and inclusive team environment.”
The NFL has decided not to conduct its own inquiry or take action until the findings of the external review are available. However, league officials have stressed the importance of everyone associated with the team cooperating with the investigation.
