Colin Kaepernick could potentially return to the NFL in 2020.
Back in 2017, the Seattle Seahawks had discussed the possibility of signing free agent Colin Kaepernick, but it didn’t materialize.
During a recent press conference, head coach Pete Carroll disclosed that a mystery team had reached out to him to inquire about the former 49ers quarterback, indicating a renewed interest in Kaepernick.
Carroll admitted his regret over not signing Kaepernick in 2017, acknowledging that they missed an opportunity. “I felt like we missed the opportunity, knowing what we know now,” he shared.
In 2017, the Seahawks chose to sign Austin Davis, a journeyman, instead of Kaepernick to serve as a backup for Russell Wilson.
Kaepernick remains unsigned and could still be one of the top backup options available today.
