Evander Holyfield has reacted to Mike Tyson by sharing his own statement.
The former boxing champion posted a video of himself working out at the gym with the caption ‘I’m back,’ echoing Tyson’s recent message.
In an Instagram post, the 57-year-old Holyfield expressed his excitement about getting back into training: “My 1st week back in the gym and I feel great. I’m looking forward to stepping up my training sessions and intensity as I prepare for my fight. I told you I had something for you.”
When questioned about the possibility of facing Tyson, now 53, Holyfield confirmed his willingness to do so.
Regarding a potential rematch, Holyfield commented, “You know life is about two people really trusting each other and what can we do now. There is a lot of things Mike and I have done together that works.”
“Obviously people like to see the two best people. Some people didn’t get the chance to see Mike and I. Everything is opinionated now about who the best is. I was the best of my era I felt.”
Holyfield won their first bout in 1996, despite being the underdog.
Their infamous second fight is best remembered for Tyson biting Holyfield’s ear, leading to Tyson’s disqualification.
