NBC has rejected ESPN’s proposal.

Recently, ESPN expressed interest in acquiring Al Michaels from NBC Sports for “Monday Night Football,” aiming to create a top-notch team of broadcasters in the future, as reported by Andrew Marchand of The New York Post.

On Tuesday, Andrew Marchand revealed that NBC had turned down ESPN’s initial request to start negotiations for the trade of broadcaster Al Michaels.

“We look forward to Al completing his contract and calling ‘Sunday Night Football’ games on NBC,” stated Greg Hughes, a spokesperson for NBC Sports, as reported by Marchand.

ESPN had hoped to team up Michaels with Peyton Manning, whom they intend to make an offer to, especially after Tony Romo’s significant deal to remain at CBS.

Currently, Michaels still has two years remaining on his contract with NBC.

ESPN’s current broadcasting team includes Joe Tessitore and Booger McFarland.
