President Donald Trump came under fire on Monday when a video emerged showing him behaving casually while the national anthem played at a Super Bowl party held at his West Palm Beach golf resort.
While everyone else in attendance, including his wife and son, stood solemnly with their hands over their hearts, Trump was seen fidgeting, waving his hands, pointing at people, and pretending to conduct the music.
The anthem, performed by Demi Lovato, echoed throughout the room at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club. This incident is notable because Trump had previously criticized NFL players and other athletes for kneeling during the national anthem to protest against police brutality and racial inequality.
