After a break of more than 15 months following his submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018, Conor McGregor marked an exciting comeback to the Octagon at UFC 246. He showcased a thrilling performance by swiftly defeating Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the very first round.

McGregor is considering fighting again in the upcoming spring and fall seasons. He has expressed interest in challenging either Tony Ferguson or Khabib Nurmagomedov. The latter two are set to compete against each other at UFC 249, vying for Nurmagomedov’s lightweight championship title.

Speaking prior to the fight, McGregor stated, “I am eager to take on both of these opponents. I look forward to a match with Tony and a rematch with Nurmagomedov. Both fights are definitely on my radar.”

In 2017, McGregor raked in close to $100 million from a boxing bout against Floyd Mayweather. Even though McGregor was defeated in the 10th round, he believes he could put up a better fight in a potential rematch.

Reflecting on his performance, McGregor remarked, “I believe I performed admirably. I secured rounds and landed more hits than Manny did. With some tweaks in my preparation and a deeper understanding of his fighting style, I am confident I can emerge victorious. I truly believe I can defeat him.”
