New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia has made MLB history by achieving his 250th career win. Sabathia now joins the ranks of the 14th player to achieve 3,000 strikeouts and 250 wins. During the Yankees’ impressive 12-1 win over the Rays, the left-handed pitcher only allowed three hits and one run.
With this latest victory, Sabathia now stands at 48th place on the all-time victories list, trailing just one win behind Bob Gibson. Earlier in April, he also became the 17th pitcher and the third left-hander to reach the milestone of 3,000 career strikeouts. Sabathia boasts a career record of 250-157 and clinched the AL Cy Young award back in 2007. In the current season, with 12 starts under his belt, Sabathia holds a 4-4 record with a 4.14 ERA while pitching for the Yankees.
The veteran six-time All-Star has already announced that he will be retiring after the conclusion of the 2019 season.
