Jacksonville Jaguars suspend Jalen Ramsey and Dante Fowler Jr following a post-practice altercation

The Jacksonville Jaguars have suspended cornerback Jalen Ramsey and defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. for a week following an altercation that took place after practice. Fowler was reportedly involved in a dispute on Sunday, and Ramsey got upset with the media filming the incident. In an official statement, the team announced that the suspension was imposed because the players violated the team’s rules and conduct.

The altercation occurred between Fowler and Yannick Ngakoue right after Sunday’s practice ended. Other teammates like Carroll Phillips, Calais Campbell, and Abry Jones had to intervene to prevent any physical confrontation.

Both Ngakoue and Fowler were escorted off the field with teammates surrounding them. The argument reignited near the locker room entrance at TIAA Bank Field, where once again, other players had to separate them.

Ramsey, who was the fifth overall pick in the 2016 draft, was upset that the media filmed the initial altercation. He yelled at the media to stop filming, using aggressive language as he left the field.

Following the incident, Ramsey took to Twitter to defend his teammate Fowler, expressing his loyalty and support for the team. Fowler, drafted third overall in 2015, will miss the season opener for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
