Baker Mayfield has purchased an RV for the team, with the stipulation that only team members are allowed to use it. The RV is stationed at the Cleveland Browns training camp, and Mayfield has made it clear that cameras from the show “Hard Knocks” will not be permitted inside, ensuring maximum privacy for the players.
The RV has garnered attention since its debut on the first day of training camp, serving as a sanctuary for the team. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor expressed that it provides a space for players to escape the crowds, downplaying the hype surrounding it. This is not a novel concept, as in the 2000s, the offensive line used a similar RV during camp for relaxation, as revealed by Jad Richa, the team’s former operations manager.
According to Stanton, who shared his experience when he played for the Lions, quarterbacks utilized an RV for retreat. He mentioned that the idea for the RV began during his collaboration with Baker in the spring. Initially skeptical, Mayfield soon confirmed the seriousness of the idea with Stanton. While designated for quarterbacks, the RV is open to any offensive lineman or player, serving as a place for relaxation rather than secretive meetings.
