Nick Diaz gets arrested following alleged domestic violence incident

Former UFC welterweight title contender, Nick Diaz has been arrested in Las Vegas on Thursday due to an alleged domestic violence case. Diaz will be having a court hearing and has a bail set at $18,000. He is still under police custody and cannot post bail until after the court hearing.

Due to the allegations filed against Diaz, which also includes him using cocaine, UFC has decided to take all the necessary precautions to ensure that it knows every detail about the incident. The UFC releases an official statement based on the incident which says, “The organisation does not tolerate domestic violence and requires all athletes to adhere to the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy. Every athlete is deserving of due process and this situation, as with any official allegations, will be duly reviewed and thoroughly investigated by an independent party.”

The report of Diaz’s arrest comes in after his younger brother Nate Diaz is being investigated by the Police Department of Sacramento, California for an alleged assault on Clay Guida on May 11 during a Combat Americas show.

Nick Diaz, who has been talking about retiring from MMA, got the chance to fight in April after he accepted a one-year suspension from the United States Agency as he missed three drug tests in a year. Diaz has not fought in any match since 2015 after he lost a game to Anderson Silva at UFC 183, a decision which was later overturned to a no contest as both the fighters failed drug tests. Silva tested positive for androsterone and drostanolone while Diaz tested positive for marijuana.

As you may know, domestic violence is a thing which should not be tolerated by anyone in the world, especially when it comes to a professional fighter trying to assault someone else sexually. UFC will surely take the right actions and assure that proper measures are taken to deal with these allegations against Diaz.
