A Double-double and two free throws by Tramain Isabell has lead Drexel to win the match against Delaware. The team has created a record for a comeback win in the match played between the two teams on Thursday. That was a 34-point comeback win over Delaware. The fans witnessed the largest come-from-behind win in the history of the men’s Division I.
The team won the game with 85-83 scores. In the match, Isabell scored 29 points which include 12 rebound and nine assists. After that match, Drexel broke the record of 66-30 scores on 58 percent shooting in the match played between Duke and Tulane and Duke won the match on 30th December 1950. Kentucky’s 31-point comeback against LSU was the second-largest which had played in 1994.
Initially, the match was in control under Delaware and they lead with 53-19 scores with 2:36 remaining in the first half and during the end of first half the score was 56-29. The reason behind this was Jacob Cushing gave 3 points to the team. Isabell got chance 3 foul shots but he only managed to make 2 of three shots. Talking about other players, Sammy Mojica, Troy Harper, and Kurk Lee scored 16, 14 and 13 points respectively for the team.
After the end of the game, Zach Spiker, head coach of Drexel stated “Our approach at halftime was, let’s make it happen. Look, this has a chance to be the craziest comeback, a perfect storm. We turned it over, we came out soft. The opposite happened in the second half.”
Tramaine Isabell, Drexel guard stated “They shot almost perfect from the 3-point line. He told us it could happen the exact opposite way.”
Drexel started the game on an 18-4 in the second half then Delaware had pushed the lead back to 16 during the second half.
Spiker stated, ” There’s no 30-point shot, 20-point shot, 15-point shot. Let’s just be poised here.” The team tried hard to turn up the tempo and made it a whole crazy game.
