It is a great relief for the Patriots as the new report informed that team’s tight end Rob Gronkowski had been cleared from the concussion protocol. That means he is clear to play in the upcoming Super Bowl game which will be played on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
As per the report, on Thursday Gronkowski participated fully in practice. On the other side, Deatrich Wise, the Defensive Lineman of the team also cleared from the concussion protocol, and he was also spotted practicing with the other players. Malcolm Butler who was suffering from some illness and Brandon Kin who has been resting due to Knee issue also participated in the practice.
Informing his comeback, Gronk informed that he is all set to roll without any limitation. He had removed from the match after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Barry Church of Jacksonville during the first half of New England’s AFC championship game.
Due to his back surgery, the missed that last year’s Super Bowl game in which the team defeated the Atlanta.
Gronkowski said “We knew the whole time I was gonna be good to go. I was progressing good throughout the week.”
Talking about his contribution to the team, he led the team in the regular season with 69 catches for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns. His comeback gives quarterback Tom Brady a breakthrough against Eagles defense ranked fourth in the NFL in defense.
Talking about him Brady said “He’s a dynamic player. He means a ton to our offense. He has since he got to our team. It’s always great when he’s out there.” He referred him as the tremendous player in the team.
Apart from this, the former defensive Vince Wilfork recently visited the Patriots to motivate them. He won Super Bowls when he was playing the New England during the 2004 and 2014.
