Case Keenum is all set to start his first career playoff start on Sunday. He will enter the match as the Vikings quarterback. The match will be played at US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis. It will be an NFC divisional game.
Well, showing his excitement and nervousness for his first playoff, Keenum stated that “It’s not a scared nervous, but an excited nervous.” He further stated that he is prepared for the match and know how to play in the match.
Keenum has won 11 of his 114 starts this season. He entered in the team as Sam Bradford is now suffering from a left knee injury. After the end of this playoff run, Keenum will be a free agent. Despite his breakout year the Vikings could decide to return to Bradford, with Teddy Bridgewater. Teddy Bradford has just played one game in this season. He had not played a game since the year 2015. Well, for now, these talks are not that important. But what is important is that Keenum is now enjoying this moment and gearing up to start the playoff game. It is expected that with Keenum, the NFC North champion Vikings can become the first team to play in a Super Bowl.
If the Vikings team wins the game against the Saints, then the Vikings will enter the NFC Championship game for the first time since 2009, and it would be the first playoff victory of the team after 2010 season when the team defeated the Cowboys.
Case Keenum informed that “It’s been a fun couple of weeks preparing. The whole atmosphere being in the playoffs has been a blast. It’s something I’m going to remember and cherish forever.”
Keenum, the six-year veteran, began his career on the Texans’ practice squad. He has completed 325-of-481 passes for 3,547 yards and 22 touchdowns against seven interceptions. In his past seven games, Keenum has been intercepted for twice.
Keenum has helped the Vikings to this point with an 11-3 record as a starter with the second-highest completion percentage in the NFL (67.6) behind Brees.
