After being traded to the 49ers in October, Jimmy Garoppolo ceased to exist as a member of the Patriots. However, he had a hand for securing a first-round bye for his previous team. Just as the Patriots wrapped up a great win over the Bills, Garoppolo took the 49ers to a 44-33 victory on Sunday afternoon over the Jaguars After this Jacksonville was in no way to finish ahead of New England in the AFC. This gave Garoppolo four wins in four starts for his latest team.
With both these things, the Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sent some love to his prior teammates.
Brady said on WEEI,” He’s done a great job. You go in there and get the opportunity to play and win games that is what we are all here for. It was good to see and good for them to beat Jacksonville that helped us. I am happy for Jimmy, and he’s worked hard. It shows up when he goes out there and plays well.”
Now, Garoppolo’s in-season move to start the 49ers lineup won’t be ending the same way as Brady’s in-season move to the list for Patriots in the year 2001. However, it has undoubtedly initiated a hope that better days have arrived for the team.
